The RARE Lightswitch V2 is a plug-and-play handlebar switch that turns the headlight and taillight of the Stark Varg on or off together. It plugs inline between the lights and the factory wiring harness using the original connectors. Nothing is cut, nothing is spliced, and the bike is back to stock in minutes.
What the Lightswitch V2 does
- Switches headlight and taillight together with one switch on the handlebar. The V1 only switched the headlight.
- Optional 12V output at the front, at the rear, or both, for a GPS, a phone charger or an auxiliary light.
- The switch glows softly while the lights are on and stays dark when they are off, so you see the status at a glance.
Installation
Plug and play with the original connectors: unplug the headlight, plug the headlight adapter lead inline, do the same at the taillight, clamp the switch to the handlebar. No cutting, no splicing, no modification to the bike, fully reversible.
Versions
All four versions switch the same headlight and taillight. You only choose whether you add a 12V output, and where: without, front, rear, or front and rear.

- Lightswitch unit with handlebar clamp

Stark Varg Lightswitch V2 (Headlight & Taillight)
Lightswitch V2: questions and answers
Which Stark Varg does the Lightswitch V2 fit?
The Lightswitch V2 fits every Stark Varg that comes with a headlight and taillight from the factory. It plugs into the original light connectors, so there is no adapter to buy and nothing to cut. The Varg MX has no lights, so there is nothing to switch on an MX.
What is the difference between Lightswitch V1 and V2?
The V1 switches the headlight only. The V2 switches headlight and taillight together with one handlebar switch, and it can add a 12V output at the front, at the rear, or at both ends. If you only want to control the headlight, the Lightswitch V1 is the cheaper option.
How is the Lightswitch V2 installed?
Plug and play, in a few minutes: unplug the headlight connector and plug the headlight adapter lead inline. Do the same at the taillight with the taillight adapter lead. Clamp the switch to the handlebar and route the cable along the existing harness. Nothing is cut or spliced. Remove the leads and the bike is back to stock.
What is the 12V output for?
The optional 12V output is a plug-and-play power connector fed from the Varg's existing wiring. Use it for a GPS, a phone charger or an auxiliary light. On the V2 you choose where it sits: at the front, at the rear, or both.
Why would I turn the lights off on a Stark Varg?
Most riders switch the lights off on closed courses, at the motocross track and on daylight off-road rides, where lights are not needed and a permanently lit headlight gets in the way of other riders. From the factory, the Varg has no handlebar switch for its lights.
Can I see whether the lights are on?
Yes. The switch glows softly while the lights are on and stays dark when they are off, so you can check the status at a glance.
Is the Lightswitch waterproof?
Yes. The switch and the connectors are waterproof, and the electronics have reverse polarity and overvoltage protection. Every Lightswitch comes with a 2-year warranty.
Does the Lightswitch affect the Stark Future warranty?
The Lightswitch uses the original connectors and makes no permanent change to the wiring harness, so it can be removed without a trace. Warranty terms are set by Stark Future, and fitting parts that are not original equipment may affect them. See the legal notice below.
Is it legal to ride with the lights off?
The Lightswitch is an off-road accessory. On public roads the prescribed lighting has to stay on, and the rider is responsible for complying with local law. Use the switch on closed courses, private property and other legally permitted off-road use.
Who makes the Lightswitch and where does it ship from?
The Lightswitch is developed and built by RARE GmbH in St. Veit im Pongau, Austria, the makers of the RARE Clutch for the Stark Varg. We ship worldwide, including the USA, Canada and Australia.
Legal Notice
Off-road accessory. On public roads the prescribed lighting must stay on.

This component is an aftermarket accessory designed exclusively for off-road, closed-course, private-property, competition, training and other legally permitted non-public-road use. Road traffic regulations in many jurisdictions require motorcycles to operate with prescribed lighting continuously or under specific conditions. The use of this product does not exempt the rider or vehicle from any applicable lighting, homologation or road-traffic requirements. Do not use the switch to disable required lighting when riding on public roads. The rider is solely responsible for ensuring that the vehicle complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
Installation is in customer's responsibility and is carried out using the vehicle's existing electrical interfaces and does not require cutting or permanent modification of the factory wiring harness. Fitting parts that are not original equipment may affect your Stark Future warranty.
As with any aftermarket electrical accessory, the behavior of individual vehicle functions may vary depending on vehicle configuration, software version and other installed equipment. Variations in indicator timing or beam illumination may occur.
12V output.
The 12V output is an additional power connector that runs off your Varg's existing wiring. Use it for accessories like a GPS, a phone charger or an auxiliary light.
Choose the version without the output if you only want to switch your lights. On the V2 you can also choose where the output sits: at the front, at the rear, or both.
Like the switch itself, the output is plug and play. No cutting and no permanent changes to the factory wiring harness.
